Holidays snatch us out of usual routine. Traditions come in place of uncertainty and guide us helping survive through the holidays or enjoy them. Traditions protect from uncertainty, make sure that everything is ok, that we are ok and not worse than those who matter and do not matter to us. But I think that traditions are guidelines and dangerous limitations. Traditions may become stronger than those who established them and with time even destroy those who never doubt and follow traditions as an ultimate and only truth.
My mood is traditions averse. I doubt and question all established truths, all religions, oracles and ideologies that are turned into some kind of an absolute. From now on my new year celebrations will include a different kind of salad. No “olivie” any more.
